For those too far away to purchase our album in person, Lonesome Garbage Man is now on iTunes here.
Our next show is at the annual Father’s Day Bluegrass Festival in Grass Valley, CA June 13th-16th. This is the premier West Coast gathering for the hardcore fans of the Bluegrass music. We played the main stage last year, and this year we will promote our new album on the Vern Williams stage Saturday afternoon, June 15th. You can find festival website and ticket info here. Windy Hill is particularly excited to see the legendary Melvin Goins, who will perform for the first time on the West Coast. Melvin is one of the great bluegrass singers of all time and quite the raconteur. Come check it all out!
Here’s a video of us last year on the main stage.

Lonesome Garbage Man Arrives May 22
The time has come, and we couldn’t be more excited! Our new album is in the manufacturing stage and is set for arrival May 22, just in time for our CD Release Party at the Club Fox in Redwood City on Friday, May 24!
Our second album, Lonesome Garbage Man is a collection of 18 songs, 16 of which are written by the band. We couldn’t be more happy about how it turned out; it has a very distinct sound given our original songs, and the analog recordings give it a much different texture than most contemporary bluegrass CDs. The arrival date is close to two years since our first album Let’s Go to the Fair came out. We can’t wait for you to hear it!
Lonesome Garbage Man is one of the songs on the album written by Thomas. It seemed a good fit for the album title, as a lot of our songs are on the lonesome side. Ryan and his brother Kellen had a lot of fun coming up with the cover.
Lonesome Garbage Man will be available at all of our upcoming shows, as well as iTunes, CD Baby, Amazon, etc. Keep an eye out for it!
See you soon.
Good times at Lake Havasu
We are back from a great trip to Lake Havasu for the Bluegrass on the Beach festival. Our van, Wendy, got us there in good time and without any trouble. It was a privilege to meet so many great people and in general to be part of such a great festival, hosted by L & S Promotions. What a great way to kick off the festival season.
We are excited to announce that we’ve finished mixing the album! Now we just have to put on the final touches and it should be here in a month!!! We are very excited to get the new music out to you. It will feature 19 songs, 18 of which are originals. We think you are really going to like it!
We’ll keep you posted as the details unravel and we have a set date for the arrival of the CD!
Lastly, check out the video below of us on the Lake Havasu news!
March 1-3: Bluegrass on the Beach Festival, Lake Havasu, AZ
The first weekend of March we will take our first trip to Lake Havasu, Arizona for Bluegrass on the Beach! Larry and Sondra Baker put on a great festival (they also host Plymouth Bluegrass Festival) and we can’t wait to see what they have in store this year. Joining us will be some of the hottest bands in the country, including the Lonesome River Band and Junior Sisk and Rambler’s Choice. We are really looking forward to it!
In other news, we are making the final strides towards finishing our second studio album! We still haven’t come up with a title yet, but we are really looking forward to finalizing all of the details and getting the CD out to our fans. We are really proud of the music on this album and can’t wait to have it out. Look for it to be released in the beginning of April.
Thanks for stopping by our site, and stay tuned for updates on the album!
San Francisco Bluegrass and Old Time Festival!
The San Francisco Bluegrass and Old Time Festival (SFBOT) begins this Friday, Feb. 8 and runs through Sunday, Feb. 17. While it is largely in the shadow of Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival, SFBOT is an unheralded bluegrass festival that hosts some of the best bands on the West Coast and beyond. Like Hardly Strictly, you can find a lot of different types of music represented.
Joining us at the Lucky Horseshoe on Valentine’s Day will be an old-time band, the Knuckleknockers, and our good friends with the Lucky Horseshoe House Band will add the honkytonk flavor. Saturday at the Starry Plough we are really looking forward to teaming up with western swing band The West Coast Ramblers.
Thanks for swinging by the site and thanks for staying patient…our album is coming out soon!!! Details to follow.
Changes to Band Lineup
After a few really great years, our mandolin player Henry is moving East with his fiance Ella. We’ve accomplished a lot with Henry and we wish him the best on his adventures with Ella and the Larry Gillis Band.
At this time we’d like to introduce Logan Ledger, our new guitar man. Logan is a rock-solid guitar player and singer who recently moved back to California from the East Coast. Thomas will be switching from guitar to mandolin. We are really excited to have Logan on board and we’re looking forward to making some great music together in 2013.
Windy Hill coming to a town near you. Thanks as always to our friends, fans and family for supporting our band.
Happy New Year!
We are very excited about making 2013 another best year yet and we have a lot of big things in store. We will be finishing up our second album in the studio this weekend and will finally move on to the mixing, mastering and designing stage before it goes into production. Look for it to be on sale in March.
In other news, on Wednesday, January 9, we will be at the Crepe Place in Santa Cruz, and joining us will be newcomers to the area, The Water Tower Bucket Boys. These guys are a top-notch band, and we are excited to join them in welcoming them as a new Santa Cruz band. Later this month, Thomas and Ryan will be traveling to Ohio to play a string of shows around the Dayton and Springfield area. This is really exciting, and it will be sort of a bluegrass pilgrimage. More details to come about their trip and the venues where they’ll be performing.
Best of luck to you in 2013. We hope to see you at a show soon.
